The Church Building Committee which was set up in March 1977 was charged with the responsibility of executing a number of church building projects including the Church Hall and the expansion of the main Church.

The following members were appointed to the Committee:

  • Engr. E.A. Ojo - Chairman
  • Dr. A.O. Ajayi
  • Mr. T.F. Dairo
  • Engr. O. Diyaolu
  • Mrs. Y. Caulker
  • Mr. M.A. Adesiyun
  • Rev. S.O. Adesina

The first project embarked upon was the building of the Church Hall considered to be of importance in view of the urgent need for accommodation for Sunday School, Fellowship meetings, etc.

On 25 June 1977, the Church launched a N250,000.00 Building Appeal Fund under the chairmanship of Prince G.A. Ademiluyi. The Chief Launcher was Chief G. A. Onagoruwa whilst the Lady Launcher was Mrs. E. Bolarinwa. The Church realised over N20,000.00 on the spot.

The foundation stone of the Church Hall was laid on 3 December 1977 and the construction of the hall progressed steadily as funds became available. By 18 November 1980, a section of the Church hall was available to accommodate the Sunday school classes whose venue was shifted from the School of Forestry.

The hall, which was substantially completed by the end of 1982 consists of a ground floor containing the main hall with a seating capacity of about 500, six toilets (three for men and three for ladies), changing rooms and committee rooms as well as a basement complex of two apartments.

The execution of the project was made possible through the donations obtained at the fund-raising ceremony, levies on, as well as generous donations by members of the Church.

The architectural design was by Arc. E.O. Olaopa (Comprehensive Design & Planning Consultants) whilst the structural engineering design was done by Messrs. Tech Consultants Limited and the quantity surveying was undertaken by Messrs. Quanticost Group -- all free of professional charges.

The contractors who took part in the building include Messrs Tunji Odeyale & Company, Kobo Savers Limited, Amacon (Nig) Limited, Isolaw Electrical Engineering Works and Muraino Adelowo.

The supervision of construction was by Engr. (Chief) E. A. Ojo, Chairman of the Building Committee.
